Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Heady aromas of smoke, roasted coffee and grilled meats are
intertwined with plum and blackberry and white pepper. A bright
entry shows off more plums with leather, white pepper and spice
coming into the play. This leads to a rich and full mouth feel
displaying many of the above characters plus dried cherries clove,
nutmeg and all spice. The finish is long and complex with glimpses
of exotic flavors such as jasmine and dried rose petals.
Production Notes
Early morning hand harvested then cold soaked for 60 hours
(40% whole berries). Cool temperatures in open top tanks,
submerged caps, pumped over twice daily. The juice was then
aged for 14 months.
Winemaker Notes
Ladi’s Vineyard Syrah is located in a small valley between four
famous Sonoma County appellations. Chalk Hill to the north,
Bennett Valley to the south, Sonoma Valley to the east and Russian
River to the west; a region of cool mornings and warm afternoons
that produces noble Syrah of the sophisticated Rhone style with an
appealing perfumed fruit.
